ABOUT US
Beth Shir Sholom, a progressive Reform synagogue, is dedicated to shaping and strengthening Jewish values and identity. All of our activities, including our unique Shabbat and holiday celebrations, religious school, adult education and social action programs, creatively express our heritage.
Beth Shir Sholom offers something meaningful for your Jewish life-style. Our Temple community is a welcome home to people with diverse backgrounds, who approach their Judaism with different needs and expectations.
A unifying element of Beth Shir Sholom, House of the Song of Peace, is our music - our sanctuary and souls are filled with joyous sounds at every service. Everyone participates in our moving melodies which weave together contemporary compositions and authentic Hebrew and Yiddish roots.

In honor of Cantor Ken's joining BSS, he invited several gifted Los Angeles Cantors to share in a very special musical evening on October 13th. Cantors Wally Shachat-Briskin of Leo Baeck Temple, Judy Greenfeld, Nachshon Minyan and Mimi Haselkorn of Temple Beth David, and Linda Kates of Stephen S. Wise joined us in welcoming Cantor Ken and his family to our synagogue.
We believe that social and political issues cannot be separated from moral, ethical and spiritual matters. By applying Jewish ethics to the problems and concerns of our community, we work together to find appropriate ways to affect social change.
We look forward to meeting you and invite you to join us and participate in our Jewish community.
