Marsha Newstat,
Early Childhood Center Director
Marsha Newstat has been employed at Beth Shir Shalom since September 2002. She has over 30 years of experience in Education and Administration. She has worked for public, private, non-profit and corporate schools.

Marsha received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from UCLA and her Master of Science Degree in Education is from Pepperdine University. She specialized in Early Childhood Education and holds four credentials. She is a member of the Santa Monica Early Childhood Task Force, an NAEYC validator a past president and current board member of the Association for Early Jewish Education.

She has been married to Gene for over thirty years. Together they have raised one Bruin (Joshua) and one Trojan (Rachel). Josh is an attorney and Rachel works in Entertainment Law. Marsha is a die-hard sports fan who loves the Bruins, Lakers and Dodgers.

In her spare time she enjoys reading, cooking, traveling and going to plays and movies.

  Roselee Packham

  Temple Manager

  Roselee has been a congregant of the Synagogue for

  30 years and as a volunteer has served as a board member,

  the Koleynu editor, and the chair of the High Holy Days

  Committee. 

  For the past two years she has been the assistant to the

  Rabbi and Cantor.  As Temple Manager, she supervises

  staff and oversees day-to-day Temple Operation.

Bill Concoff

Religious School Principal

Bill Concoff, RJE, has been involved in Jewish Education in Southern California since 1970, He brings to the Beth Shir Shalom program over 40 years of experience in the Jewish community as a teacher, song leader, camp counselor, Youth Group advisor, Education Director, Temple Administrator, and 33 years as a Resident Camp Director.

Cynthia Barzilai

Cynthia has been a congregant, board member, committee chair and has participated in all aspects of our Synagogue.  For the past six years she has been Assistant Director for the Early Childhood Center, and in addition is now the administratorfor our Religious School.

Carolyn has been with us for two years and makes sure everything is in balance.

David Katz
Project Administrator

David wears many hats.  From publicity to I.T. to publishing flyers and siddurs.  Please contact him if you have any questions about a program. David has been with Beth Shir Shalom since 1998. David also teaches Israeli Dancing on Monday nights and leads dancing for Family Shabbat Celebrations. 

Melissa Susser

Office Administrator

Our "newest" staff member, Melissa handles our phones, mailings, supplies and in every way takes care of our main office. She publishes our weekly email and our weekly handouts.   She also oversees all facility needs for temple events and handles appointments for our Rabbi and Cantor.
