CANTOR'S CORNER
Torah reading on the High Holidays

Shalom Post BM class,
I'm sure you remember how wonderful it felt to chant from our Torah as you began your life as an adult member of our congregation.
We wish to pay tribute to you, members of our Bar/Bat Mitzvah class,
by offering you the honor of being called to the Torah to chant one Aliyah
at our upcoming High Holiday Services. Here's what we're asking of you.
1. Chant the Blessing Before the Torah Reading.
2. Chant one Aliyah (3 short lines of Torah).
3. Chant the Blessing After the Torah Reading.
Now that you've mastered the ancient melody of Torah Trop and the ability to chant any portion of the Torah, you can use these skills to choose the Torah portion that is most meaningful to you.
Feel free to listen to the recordings of the Torah Portions listed below, then confirm your selection by emailing me or reaching me by phone (310 453-3361). There are only a limited number of portions available, so please contact me asap to ensure your participation.
I truly hope you will consider this honor as a way to further enhance your Jewish adulthood, and deepen your connection to our special community.
I look forward to hearing from you and sharing the joy of studying Torah
once again.
Your friend,
Cantor Ken
