In our Religious School children learn to live their Judaism and parents are also invited to several Family Education Days. Our innovative curriculum grows in sophistication along with the children. Each week our young chaverim (friends), are given a special Jewish experience as they are introduced to Jewish customs, ceremonies and history. Classroom instruction is augmented by song, dance, arts and crafts, cooking, games, stories and a weekly learning service with the Rabbi.

Our Sunday morning experience gives our chalutzim (pioneers), a positive feeling about Judaism. Study includes holidays and major personalities in Jewish history. Moral and ethical development is stressed through discussions of events of both current and historical concern. Students are taught the prayers central to Shabbat and are familiarized with life-cycle events. Music and art projects introduce our students to different aspects of Jewish culture and provide avenues of personal expression.
Tuesday's class is devoted to studying Hebrew, an important vehicle for understanding Judaism. A working knowledge of Hebrew is necessary to begin to understand the Bible and to meaningfully participate in worship services. Curricular goals include fluent reading of prayerbook Hebrew, comprehension of Shabbat prayers and a basic ability to read Torah. Students are grouped by ability. One highlight of the year is the spring Weekend Retreat.
